Civic Service at Christchurch Cathedral Oxford

On the 18th of October 2016 Christchurch Cathedral Oxford will be holding it's annual civic service of remembrance for St Frideswide. We are delighted that for 2016 the theme of the Civic Service will be a celebration of Nursing.

FOR 125 years, Oxford has been home to world-class training for those who look after us of us in our hours of need. Care and dignity, compassion and diligence – those are the qualities that all nurses trained in the city have carried with them for more than a century. Read More Via @Oxford Mail

Events and Celebrations

To mark the 125 Year celebrations, a series of lectures starting in 2016, sponsored by Health Education Thames Valley, will bring speakers and the public together to learn more about The Past, Present and Future of Nursing Education, kicking off with Prof Brendan McCormack of Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh on "Capturing the energy within – the future landscape of nursing education".

The full exciting schedule of events will be confirmed as we near the start of 2016 (take a look at the events confirmed so far HERE), and there will also be tours around local NHS trusts, a fun run/walk organised by our student nurses, as well as other social events for the public, alumni and current students. The Annual Civic Service held in Christchurch Cathedral will also be focused on Nursing in October 2016.
